Not your typical football player.

When he first came to ND he wanted to meet Fr. Ted *

The picture also had the photo of Father Ted marching with MLK.

I have been a Tillery fan since I saw that picture. *

Jerry Sr. is a truly cool dude. Jerry Jr. is the spitting image of him, including in height (not weight; Dad is thin, looks to be in great shape, obviously an athlete himself back in the day).

Does anyone know his major?

I never really thought that physics dream was going to stick. It doesn't for most non-athletes. I think my class had 6 physics grads.

6 physics and 11 math. I think things have changed

I’ve seen it so many times I practically have it memorized; it never gets old.

When I hear about a young person like Tillery

I get hopeful that collegiality may not be dead. Then I remember he is but one player in a sea of thousands who are constantly told that football is their major and then sequestered in teenage daycare facilities so they can "focus on their craft" while University Presidents and ADs secure their next capital funding project or million dollar contract on their backs.

Kudos to Tillery for having the experience of a college student who plays elite football rather than the more typical football player who "suffers" through collegiate offerings, both academic and social.

A very interesting young man. *

JT is far more articulate than Rome. "Rack me! I'm out!" *
