We didn't close the recruiting gap with Alabama. It only widened more
as they were #1 again. We picked up one 3-star at WR despite a chronic
need. Here it is only February and the assistants are offering 3-stars
already.
FTR, I mostly agree with you, but it’s kind of like posting pictures of dog and someone coming back and saying they didn’t win the dog show. A little incongruous
I could see if the class was top 5 or even or even top 10,but it's
nothing but Kelly's standard fare....
I think he didn’t win because of the sac imbalance

he recruits or what he does with the players once they're at Notre Dame (player development, in-game decisions, etc.)? It seems like we are saying the last two years he has both underrecruited and underutilized players.*
*perfectly acceptable if the response is "his first seven years sucked and that's all we need to know" or "there's no evidence that he is capable of stringing together three non train wreck seasons together".
the offense, BVG’d the defense and recruited okay.
How do you decipher that?
The big question long term is whether that will be offset with Quinning the OL.
We signed (4) 4-star receivers last year, including a Top 100 player.
McKinley, Claypool, Boykin, also 4 stars.
If your definition of having a player is having multiple 5-star recruits at a position....Alabama is the only team that has any players.
The three freshmen from last year didn't play against Clemson.
....is there news on McKinley other than the prevoius? Discipline? Word from his camp? Or are you just assuming he's going to leave?
I don't see how the fact that none of the (4) freshmen 4 stars played in the bowl game means they won't ever contribute. We haven't had too many freshman contribute under Kelly in the past. He likes experience, for better or worse.
Once would think that one of Austin, Lenzy, Keys III and Jones would be able to contribute this year....perhaps more than one.
There were rumors that McKinley might transfer even b4 incident....
...and Boykin became a legitimate threat. Claypool also improved.
There are plenty of young guys to step up. Your claim that we have no talent at WR is erroneous.
RB is a more frightening situation.....Tony Jones Jr. seems to be a solid back, not a gamebreaker. Armstrong could be....but lacks much experience at RB.
After those two....yikes.
you can find many non-highlight tapes; since HUDL is the way that most coaches watch the prospects' film and since coaches hate watching bullshit highlight tapes you can look for "1st half tape vs. XYZ" and actually see how the kid performs in a game situation.
EVeryone's highlight tape looks bad ass.
