Aside from Willingham, has ND faced an ex coach before?
by Giggity_Giggity (2019-04-14 22:55:19)

Since Ty never really coached (in the truest sense of the verb) I’m not sure it counts, but I’m really looking forward to seeing the reception for Davie.

UNM hates Davie

They want to fire him but don't have the money to buy him out. He is a dead man walking there.

I hope he coaches there for eternity. *

did you play the West Las Vegas NM Dons?

when I was at Notre Dame, there was a walk on HB named Mike Lopez from West Las Vegas NM.....he was about the same size as scholarship fb player -little HB Gary Diminick...and better than a few of the other 1970 scholarship Frosh halfbacks.

Graduated from ND with honors in 1974

no West Las Vegas was a very small school and in

a different classification.

Whereas our school had about 1200-1300 students, I'd estimate WLV at that time at around 400-500 kids.

Mike was obviously exceptional. Any idea where he is now?

Campus Wide Hot Dog Rotisserie Sales for Charity

You can set up hot dog rotisserie stations across the entire campus, and sell Davie Dogs (Dr M - leaving you to your own devices to figure out what the toppings might be . . . ). All proceeds go to charity. Looks like you can fit 50 to 60 dogs in a rotisserie. And toast buns, as well. Get each hall to man one, perhaps.

I am dubbing this war the "Battle of the Bastards."

No Jon Snow though. More like Ramsay versus Joffrey. You can decide who is who.

Here are the former ND coaches (from present day back to 1914) who went on to coach at other colleges after their tenure at ND ended...

Weis - Kansas
Willingham - Washington
Davie - New Mexico
Holtz - South Carolina
Faust - Akron
Devore - St. Bonaventure, NYU, and Dayton
McKeever - Univ. of San Francisco
Anderson - NC State

ND has never played against New Mexico, Akron, St. Bonaventure, NYU, or Dayton.

ND last played Kansas in 1999 and South Carolina in 1984. ND played its first game against NC State in 2002.

McKeever went to Cornell after ND, then USF *
