He delivered, but not exactly the Big Chunks that he promised.
He is probably the top QB ND has the best chance with, but Nico Iamaleava visited last month and they offered Avery Johnson as well.
Re “ Needless to say it would be the biggest recruiting win for BK & co in quite some time if they could pull it off.” wasn’t Jurko the #1 ranked QB?
Yet, if he (Howard) comes I’ll support and cheer for him as I do for all the Lads who come to Our Mother’s university…..as I continue to despise Kelly.
He was a low floor high ceiling kind of guy who needed time to develop. He was 84 composite, 4th dual threat QB and rated behind 5 pro style dudes. Walker is rated 22 which in that year would put him behind 2 pro style QB's and one dual threat. Those QBs are Trevor Lawrence, JT Daniels, and Justin Fields.
If we're recruiting QB we should be getting a guy like this every year or two with Jurkovek esque guys in other classes.
Lawerence and Justin Fields.
LSU needs a coach
It will be a very emotional moment for Walker and his parents. Tearing up myself just thinking about how wonderful it will be for all of them
the beer belly and the visor.
Certainly getting an on-campus visit is helpful. Obviously he is from deep in LSU territory, but he does go to a Catholic HS there.
You have to think there's a good chance Pyne leaves if Buchner passes him. That leaves Buchner, Clarke who's been rehabbing an ACL for a year and freshmen. This guy also sounds like a polished high floor limited ceiling (doesn't have the measurables to be a top 10 draft pick) which helps with depth when he's a freshman.
“According to Angeli, Rees has stated that the Fighting Irish will only be taking one quarterback in this class after taking two quarterbacks in 2021. Notre Dame offered only four quarterbacks in the 2022 class up until this point anyways, but it does not appear that number will grow moving forward..”
From an article 3/5/21 after Angelli committed.
Thought we might have another Jack Nickel situation on our hands.
Either way, it appears Angeli was told he’d be the only QB in the class when he committed.
nowhere. I would bet staff knew and probably explained the situation to Angeli. They need more QB's for depth purposes if nothing else, and Angeli is not a kid who is going to transfer if he doesn't win the starting job on day 1 or something.
1) ND told Angeli he'd be the only QB they take in 2022 class.
2) Angeli committed to ND.
3) ND is now pursuing a 2nd QB in the 2022 class.
Clark would have been an inexperienced, injury-plagued senior in 2022...I do not see how that would have anything to do with chasing Howard, as he (and Angeli) would be mere freshmen in 2022. I doubt they were counting on Clark to break into a Pyne, Buchner, Angeli depth chart in 2022 when they were making promises to Angeli.
Clark did not practice in the spring. The talk was of a medical hardship at that time.
