Now, with NIL, athletic directors can drop the pretense that their athletes are "student-athletes."

They can say, to themselves and to other ADs, "Look, our athletes treat themselves as commodities that can jump ship and transfer, so we can now drop the bullshit of them being here for an education. They look at themselves as fungible pieces of meat. So, hey, we can, too!"

"We're in a business. They are like employees. We can move them around like pallets of frozen hamburger."
