There used to be far more scholarships available and many coaches would recruit players simply so their (arch) rivals wouldn't get the player. Sounds crazy. Why waste a scholarship on someone you don't intend on playing? Practice squad I guess. The "transfer portal" will be crazier than a mosh pit at a SLAYER concert. College athletics is becoming a free for all. It will have a serious impact in both men's and women's basketball.
