also, changed # from 25 to 2.

Glad to hear, but why'd it take so long to figure this out? *

Diggs/Price injuries might have delayed the change

Logan Diggs had labrum surgery after the 2021 season. His usage rate in the early part of the year was low indicating that they were not sure he was 100% yet (175 total touches for the 2022 season, but of those only 51 came in the first 6 games (including no receptions or carries against Cal) versus 124 touches in the remaining 7 games)).

Then in June 2022, Price had an Achilles injury which took him out for the year.

Gi'Bran Payne was added as a late recruit and was on the roster but probably not the first choice to burn a year of eligibility on a guy who needed to size up. As it is he only played in 4 games so preserved his redshirt (Navy, BC, Southern Cal, South Carolina).

At that point (start of 2022 season), you only had 2.5 backs including Estime, Tyree, and a less than 100% Diggs).

As of today, you have Diggs, Estime, Price, Payne, and Love (who may be ready to play this Fall), so you have the freedom to move Tyree.

Yep, also by the time Diggs was healthy

It would have been 5’10 Drew Pyne throwing to 5’8” Chris Tyree. Give that as an alternative, I’d prefer the handoff.

Not to mention Tyree ran for 500 yards as a freshman.

And he was beat up as a sophomore. But he had the second most carries and was a reliable third down back. It's not surprising that he was given a chance to hold on to his position on the depth chart heading into last season. But the other guys developed, including in pass protection and catching the ball out of the backfield.

Good summary *
