This game seemed was never in doubt

I thought it was very much in doubt through 2.

Even though we weren't getting a lot of pucks through on net, we were getting decent half-chances.

But in the third period, we got outplayed pretty comprehensively. We just never seemed to be able to sustain any pressure, and tUMD was staying back so the transition chances weren't there either.

I expected us to play better in the 3rd, for sure. *

I think UMD would have beaten anyone tonight, certainly

Any team that ND has played. So sharp, so fast. How the heck did they pile up so many losses this year?

They didn't really get going until the NCAA tournament.

They were two and out in the NCHC tournament, and barely made it into the field (one of the necessary components was ND beating Ohio State in the B1G final).

Yes, but..,

They are really fast, that’s their style. They are also young. We didn’t generate enough O tonight. They countered our tough D with a lot of action in our zone. It’s tough to score when you are always in your own zone.

UMDs forechecking was incredible.

Their second goal was fluky but they played a good game.

And of course fuck Michigan.

We need more offense

Great season, we need to combine the good D with more offense. It’s the inverse of men’s hoops
