I wondered last year if, given their tournament success, there was something about the way they play that is difficult to solve for a team that is unfamiliar.

This year's results for the Bulldogs might be more evidence in favor of that proposition. They lost to Minnesota and Clarkson out of conference, and nobody else. They lost nine games in conference play, including losses to North Dakota, Western Michigan, and Colorado College.


We played 9 teams out of conference (not counting

the conference tournament) and only lost to 2 of them. It was the two teams playing for the title. We managed to win against the two teams UMD lost to out of the NCHC, including post-season games. While this year the team fell short by 3 wins of the elusive NCAA title, perhaps we weren't so far from it as it appeared 2 weeks ago.
