Andrew Peeke last CBJ cut
by IndyDave (2019-10-01 15:43:36)

Jackets sent Peeke to the AHL today - the last player cut to get down to 23.

Kept reading good things about him for the entire camp. He definitely impressed.

Wouldn't be surprised if CBJ end up moving a defenseman (Savard or Murray most likely) for some help up front.

Peeke looks like the first guy up whether due to trade, injury or poor performance.

Anders Bjork was among the last guys sent down to Providence

Not scoring consistently enough, say the Bruins.

Just saw a NDHockey tweet about active NHL guys and he wasn’t on it. Search shows he was cut two days ago.

He actually had a decent preseason until the last game ...

they've been looking at him at LW for better results from his speed. I think the feeling is that they want him playing every night and seeing how he overcomes the injury history.

Needs to stay healthy.

Lost major parts of his two pro seasons to shoulder issues IIRC.

I hope he gets back up soon.

Preferably in less than two weeks when we go to the Stars-CBJ game.

Gilbert doing well for Hawks organization as well...

he was sent to Rockford but numerous articles indicate he was essentially the break-out story of camp. Duncan Keith had very nice things to say about him, and Keith said them knowing they'd help build Gilbert's confidence. Sounds like he could be back with the Hawks in the not too distant future.

Can't link to Athletic article as it is pay. Written by Mark Lazerus on Sept. 30.

Liked him from the first day he hit the ice at N D. *
