give OSU shorthanded goal and then another when we were shorthanded. Except for about 5 mins of the 3 rd period when OSU scored 3 goals we had the puck in their end most of the night.

Why are special teams so often a problem with this team?

We either can't score a power play goal, or play like a bunch of sieves on the penalty kill. So far this year, it is turning out to be both. There are only a handful of teams with a worse penalty kill than Notre Dame's, and the power play ranks around the 45th best. To make matters worse, we take more penalty minutes per game than all but 6 other teams. Not gonna win a whole lot more with rankings like that.
