Inept. Can't think of another way to describe Notre Dame's

offense.

At 2.2 goals a game only 12 NCAA teams fare worse. It's been even worse of late. Notre Dame has scored a total of just 9 goals in their last seven games, including 7:26 of OT. That's just 1.3 goals a game over that span. Inept. At their current paces, 3 players may finish with 10 goals and 4 may finish with 20 points. Jackson's 1st team here, hardly an offensive juggernaut, had 5 players score at least 20 points.

The disparity in talent between Notre Dame and the elite programs right now is quite apparent. This looks like the poorest performing group of forwards that I have seen at Notre Dame since Poulin was the coach. Not much speed, zero creativity, and no one who possesses anything close to an NHL shot. What's worse is they don't look well coached. They are putting pucks in vulnerable places, and they struggle to establish a forecheck. Jackson has been fond of two phrases in recent years, "puck possession," and playing a "heavy" game. There has been little of that lately.

They got lucky tonight. Bishel quite literally stole a win for an Irish team that didn't really do enough offensively to deserve to win.
