Prep recruiting has been a disaster. Every commit with NHL Draft prospects and without a existing family connection to Notre Dame seems to bolt for greener pastures at the first possible opportunity.

The portal is a good way to fill short-term holes in the roster, but championship caliber teams need to have a strong core of freshman enrollees.

I don't know how to fix this.
