I just can't get over how bad the passing has been.

The last two season the passing has regressed and it shows up in more time spent playing defense and giving up bad breakaways in the wrong direction. It shows up in low shot totals with even lower scoring chance totals. They don't need to pass like a NHL team but I've seen some of my son's friends play HS games at the Ice Box with better passing than I'm seeing out of ND this season.

There is plenty of blame to go around on that too. Lazy passes, passing into danger, missing the tape on a pass, having a stone stick when the pass does hit the tape, and simply panicking with the puck/pass. Better passing out of our zone, through center ice, and on the attack would probably be worth 1-2 goals a game either by getting ND another goal or preventing the other team from getting a goal. Sometimes it feels like it is a -4 goals on passing where ND gives up 2 goals as a result of bad passes and misses on 4 or 5+ quality scoring chances because a pass isn't completed properly.

Having never played or coached hockey, I have no idea how to fix it. I just know what I see and this ND team is as bad of a passing team as I have ever seen in 25+ years watching ND hockey.
