My one meeting with Lou was when he spoke at

Event for my wife’s employer. Since the event coordinator was good friends with her I was able to attend the private reception with the company’s executives. He had a lot of great jokes about speaking to a company named Spartan Stores.
Anyway we were able to get individual pictures with him. When it was my turn he mentioned it was good to have an Irish fan in the room. He then put his arm around my shoulders and slouched down to appear shorter that me (I’m 5’11”). That really stuck with me as I was watching the others after me - he did the same with all of them - I felt like he was making me the focus of the image and maintaining his image from the sidelines where his players towered over him.

I’m praying for for the Lord to comfort him in this time. He is one of my heroes
