The last time I saw Lou was...

About 10 years ago at this point. He was the featured speaker at my company's national convention. The head of our events team was a big ND fan, and knew that I was an alum, so he pulled some strings on and got me some face time with Lou. He couldn't have been nicer. After he found out that I was an ND man and a student during his tenure it was like I was the only one in the room. As much as I wanted to ask him questions, he asked me about my life - how long I've been with the company, what was my role, if I had a family, kids, etc. I'll never forget one thing that he said to me, "Remember, the key to being successful is to always surround yourself with people who love you." Of course, Lou killed it as a speaker, and I had the biggest smile on my face the whole time.
