Their inability to score is costing them this game. D is top notch but can’t win if you can’t score.
Isn't ball movement the way you beat a zone? They are standing still and/or dribbling in place until there is no time left on the clock. It makes no sense.
Yes, a combination of ball and people movement (to open areas) is the way to go on a zone.
This will often result in open three's, but since Duke was standing there, all those three's were contested.
And then Day-Wilson decided to play Hero Ball...it was Colorado's game then.
She's keeping the ball, taking quick jumpers and making wild drives down the pipe.
What's a bit more surprising is Balogun is making uncharacteristic mistakes.
Celeste Taylor looks out on her feet after all the running she's done.
All she does is shoot a lot and miss a lot
Kelly Gramlich and I were both scratching our respective heads when Coach Lawson took out DeJesus who had helped Duke scratch out a slight lead with decent shooting and replaced her with Day-Wilson who, up to that point, was 1-5 or something like that. She finished 1-9 with 4 turnovers. 0 assists.
It goes to her and it's a black hole. Gone.
If Celeste Taylor doesn't use her Covid year and goes pro, I have no idea what this team is going to do from a cohesiveness standpoint because Day-Wilson looks out for #1.
repeatedly. Didn't she win ACC freshman of the year? Hard to see how that happened.
