article on the Trials, written by Mike Flynn, owner and operator of Blue Star Media. He also provides links to his colleague, Mark Lewis, also of Blue Star.

By and large, he's impressed with the overall quality of players in Colorado:

"Looking through the roster shows not only experience with a returning gold medal roster of players but depth in positions that many who got cut last year are determined to steal away. Many of the taller players here have gotten older, smarter and more mature physically to take the banging. Add to that a plethora of younger 2020 and 2021 talent here and the future looks great now and for next year’s 2018 U16 Americas selection."

Besides Blue Star, check out Joe Fenelon – NYGHoops. He takes a lot of pictures on both twitter and instagram.

Mentions many ND prospects, but not Sam. Don't know what to take from that, but imagine will find out tomorrow on next round of advancement/cuts.

Boston, Jones most certainly are given pats on the back.

Interesting that Sasha Goforth got mentioned in Mark

Lewis's article you cite (following day 3), but she was cut and was not participating today. I guess that means that today is day 4. It also indicates that different evaluators can see the same performances and have different takes. I hope Sam makes the team.

Goforth, Parker, Brunelle....

As you brought up, Goforth was given kudos by one evaluator, then "poof!"
Evaluators, Match-ups, On or Off Days. Very tough competition is unrelenting.

Noted that Ramani Parker committed to Louisville, then promptly quit her HS team to train specifically for the AAU circuit and this tryout. That didn't work.

While the lack of steady Brunelle mentions is a bit concerning, I'm also wondering how much of this is due to Sam always being there and becoming something of a very talented glue player. Plus, she plays a unique position that calls for a slew of skills.

Stay tuned.

quite a few very talented and worthy players who will be disappointed. This is just an unusually talented group.

This guy did pretty well so far! Of the 12 he cites, there

are 9 of them on the final 18. He missed on Prechtel, Parrish, and Hunt.

You're right. I'm impressed with the fact that

Mark Williams of Premiere Basketball Report (we might as well name him) correctly identified Caitlin Clark, Diamond Miller, Jordyn Oliver, and Kylee Watson, who were all on the U16 team last year, as failing to make it this year.

Well, he is credentialed, as he votes on the McDonalds

Paige Burckers, Azzi Fudd, Jordyn Oliver, Rickea Jackson, Treasure Hunt, Caitlin Clark, Charisma Osborne, Hannah Gusters, along with a few new names: Lavender Briggs (19), Mila Reynolds (22), Kylie Feuerbach (20), Breanne Salenbien (21), Janiah Barker (22), Amari DeBerry (20) (not that new), and Madelynne Scherr (20).

Nice to see Madeline Westbeld doing her Kathryn imitation.

No word about Sam on the court but off the court she is the face of the program.

Added: OK, Sam shows up in this tweet.

I'm glad to see Mila Reynolds of South Bend

mentioned. When Sam Brunelle committed to ND, Mila's father tweeted that he hoped that Sam would eventually be Mila's host on an official visit to ND. I look forward to seeing her play during her high school years and hope that her career path will follow Skylar Diggins'.

Here's the first cut to 102.

Go to this link and towards the top of the page look just UNDER the headline "2018 USA Women's U17 World Cup Team Trials Roster (158 athletes)", which reads "102 Finalists (as of May 26 at 12:45 p.m. MDT): Alphabetical | Numerical". This will allow you to download the remaining 102 who made the first cut.

Unfortunately, Mila Reynolds did not make it. She is awfully young at this point

Among the cuts: Madeline Westbeld, Keegan Sullivan, Maddie Burke.

All of the eleven from the Nielefest/Recruitapalooza extravaganza remain except Anaya, who is part of the U18 group, Maddie Burke, and Matyson Wilke, who did not attend.

Also, Aliyah Boston and Haley Jones, of course remain. Laeticia Amihere, as we know, is Canadian. One other player making the cuts is Sydnee Roby, who Dillon does not want us to forget.

Think Sydnee Roby is Worth Keeping An Eye On...

..as she could be a plan B (and I mean that in the most practical but respectful way possible) for 2019 post plans if Ameihere and/or Boston go elsewhere, which could most certainly happen given how many top schools are after them. Of course, a lot of schools are after the Wisconsin Player of the Year herself (that being Ms. Roby), so she's a plan A for many places.

I'm also just plain interested to see how far she goes in this process....
