Final Four Deficits
by McLean_ND (2018-07-31 13:20:43)

Late in the ND-Miss. St. championship game there was a graphic put up on the screen that no team had ever come back from being 10 or more points down in both the semi-final and final games to win the championship.

Just finished reading "Nice Girls Finish First" and, according to the book, in 2001 we trailed UConn by 16 in the first half and trailed Purdue by 12 in the first half. Guess we have done it twice.

Maybe they meant this season😊 *

I'm guessing that it was supposed to be "come back from 10 or more points in the 2nd half. "

I'd have to watch the game again, but I don't think ND trailed Purdue by more than 10 in the 2nd half in 2001. They were down by around 16 against UConn in the 2nd half.
