And even though you don't see her, I like MM encouraging Mik to hit the boards.

Mik is the back-up for Brianna. Danielle Patterson probably is set to fill either spot and be a key part of the hoped for "press team."

when they want to get bigger

...you could put Danielle P. in and run her with the first unit. She's kind of a hybrid.

the "hybrid" role fits. The fans in Knoxville thought that she was going to choose them.

..since she committed to us.

It's interesting that a very natural 6'2" athlete who can play one or two positions might actually be hindered by her ability. This flexibility -- her tweenesss, if you will -- might make her a second choice for the high post or the wing. But depending on the opponent and the match-ups, she could offer an interesting advantage: need a bigger wing, put Danielle in. Want to run on a smaller team? Put Danielle in at the high post.


Maybe this year will be helpful to both Danielle and the coaching staff to see how her talents can best be utilized after this group of extraordinary seniors/grad students move on.
