Miami's posts seemed to negate what we were trying to do offensively.
But when all was said and done, Miami got a "WTF career performance" by Mason, who was hitting anything and everything.
But, I agree with you...everything seemed off here. And this time, one can't point at Jackie not being in the game. The whole team got beat.
Credit to Katie Meier, her staff and the players for an outstanding effort. Hof played her butt off.
there seems to be no consistent outside threat. Arike seems to be trying to carry the team offensively and it's not happening for her consistently
..shooting some threes, just to pull Mompremier and Hof out from the lane.
Instead, she'd ball fake then drive into a wall.
One of the best points about Kat's game was her decision making on when to pass, when to shoot, when to drive, etc.
Our decision-making was not first rate tonight, that's for sure.
So we need to adjust and eliminate the need for that role. Running a half court offense that assumes you have Kat when you don’t is flat out not going to get it done. Perhaps MM is experimenting to see if we can fill that hole. It’s time to focus on something that assumes a PG, two wings and two forwards down low. That’s what we have.
The closest thing we have to Kat is on the bench and a year away from being ready for prime time.
Turner isn't good in the high post. Shepard is better. She's a threat to shoot from there.
The starters had 1/2 the game off Sunday. They play with absolutely no fire at all. Flatfooted & listless.
