without UConn and AAC #9 with UConn. Big East would easily move up to #4 with UConn added in as my calculation show the Big East average RPI would be 0.5674, better than both the Big 10 and SEC. UConn's RPI was 6th overall (with ND #!), but was affected by the lousy AAC and will be even better if they were in the Big East. The AAC would drop their average conference RPI to 0.5103 which would have dropped them 10th, below the Colonial and almost the same RPI average as the IVY league. a ton of money to upgrade UConn football to D-1. It hasn’t worked out at all (yes they did beat Notre Dame). UConn football is an interesting contrast/comparison to Rutgers University football and their efforts to go big time. Neither has worked out. Far more H.S. football talent in New Jersey than Connecticut. Then again, for a few good reasons, New Jersey is the highest per capital exporter of H.S, grads to out of state colleges.
