If we have learned nothing else the last few years, we have learned that the players here want to get into the WNBA. They will leave if they believe they can go directly or that their path would be better somewhere else. This applies to even the best players, McDonald’s All Americans or even a high school player of the year.

This reminds me of a Sufi story:

Judge Nasruddin heard a case. After listening to the plaintiff present his arguments, Judge Nasruddin remarked, "You're right."
Then after listening to the defendant, Nasruddin again remarked, "Yes, you're right."

Nasruddin's wife had been listening to the case, and stood up, "That doesn't make any sense - how can both the defendant and plaintiff be right?"
