When Beth Morgan Cunningham oversaw recruiting in 2019-20, she followed Lauren and the head of her club team on twitter. Carole Owens saw Lauren Betts to play on the U.S. National Team in Chile, which also included commits Olivia Miles and Sonia Citron, as well as 2022 forward prospect Timea Gardiner.
All are following/followed, so there is mutual interest.

Betts, the #1 rated player in her grade, would be an unbelievable get for ND (and any school for that matter). She is such a solid presence in the post it would allow Nat Marshall, not exactly small at 6'5", to roam as a forward.
One word of caution. He does not include the possibilities of Vaughn's, Gilbert's, or Prohaska's extra year.
He heard Baba loud and clear. Also, NDWBB official roster makes no mention of extra year eligibility.
