Its also bad form to shout that racist's name at the player he did it to when he returns to Anfield.
but to each their own
Does the defensive team want their fielder to have an error or the pitcher to have earned runs? The defensive team will prefer an error on the fielder and make the runs un-earned. The fielder rarely cares about one more error, but to a pitchers and a strikers psyche these things matter. (and yes for a borderline call, the home baseball team scorers DO show this preference even though it should be an un-biased decision)
Erikson isn't out there to score goals primarily, so one more, one less and it doesn't make or break his season. Strikers, like pitchers are fickle characters.
At the end, it doesn't bother me either way as a fan (unless I had Erikson on fantasy ha) and it's probably supported heavily from Pochettino anyway.
Still, like I said about strikers and pitchers, they are a funny bunch.
In this case, it's mate vs. mate.
I also wonder if this is not about catching Salah and more about a bonus tied to goals scored.
Will they bend over backwards to support their star? If not, he may as well go to Madrid.
They did, so they have a chance to keep him.
It's what you do.
