1. Many papers thought the USA 1 Britain 0 contained a typo and announced the score as a 10-1 victory by the Limeys.

2. Tragically the hero of the game Joe Gaetjens was a Haitian immigrant who later returned to his native country and was killed by the Ton Ton Macuti of Papa Doc or Baby Doc.
