If he says he likes Bayern Munich, maybe he just likes a German side and doesn't care to have any strong interest in an English Club. That wouldn't seem at all like waffling to me.

If you gave me shit for calling out an Italian goalie for his clown actions, I reply I don't give a shit about any Italian teams, and you reply with something similar to the above, it's not going to make me go invest time in Italian soccer & pick a team.
