Oh, Chicago Fire

I have come to the conclusion

that the name change and move to Soldier Field will result in no improvement to the franchise. Hauptman is a fool. Nelson Rodriguez is a fool. Paunovic is overmatched. The fact that Pauno wasn't fired yesterday is all the proof you need about how poorly the franchise is run.

I believe that changing the name to Windy City FC and playing in Soldier field where the tickets will be expensive and so will parking will NOT save this franchise. It will not result in more attendance. It will not result in investment in the club. It will not result in bringing in better players or coaches. The eventual failure in Soldier Field might, however, be used as "evidence" by Hauptman to the MLS powers that be (the same guys paying to bail out his deal with Bridgeview)that a franchise cannot make it in Chicago and it might be a basis for him to try to move the team somewhere else where he can get a fat new stadium deal from a town that is hungry for a team.

So, let's just skip all that and let's let Andy leave now. The MLS won't let Chicago go without a team for long and maybe we can get a proper owner who might take care of the franchise rather than this huckster and his dolt of a sidekick general manager.

The worst part of the loss was that the Fire put up a post on their facebook that "it wasn't their day".

Rumors I'm hearing is that Mansueto will buy him out

But does he really want to sell?

I've heard he actually likes owning the team quite a bit, but agree with others, he's a smart and accomplished person who is out of his depth when it comes to soccer.

Agree 1000%

It's just infuriating.

The guys in Hot Town basically called for the nuclear option, burn it all to the ground and start over, at every level and facet.
