What’s the solution? Revamp the certification program, erasing the difference between a brand new official and someone a grade or two up who’s been doing it for years. Make the recertification process an insulting, basic 3-4 hour process of mandatory videos where you’re told how to referee by 14 year olds.

Not that I’m bitter.

On paper, I'm no different than the 13 year old who got his badge in March. If the assignor doesn't know you, it's worthless. I have no idea what the goal of this is. I read the justification, I still don't know.
