This is late, but necessary for me, even if I forgot to follow their progress during the season.

Hamburger SV could have beaten Heidenheim in the penultimate game of the season to get into the playoff set to possibly get promoted back to the Bundesliga, but no, they lost 2-1.

No problem - they just needed to come away with a draw at home against a middle of the road SV Sandhausen to pull it off. Instead, they got their doors blown off 5-1 and thus, are stuck in Bundesliga 2 for another year. Dummkopfs!
