If you were head coach, how would you have managed the game?

I also watched the game (not from the stands) and saw, pretty much the same action. I can’t recall any game with more defenders active in the box. There were typically at least twice as many NC State players in the box on any probe than ND attackers—that does not lend itself to going through the middle, either by passing or dribbling.

So, I saw ND continuing to try to isolate skilled players by kicking balls over the top or to the outside for crosses. Now, as some said, some of the attempts were poorly executed (i.e. straight to the goal keeper or over the end line), but the strategy seemed sound.
Am I missing something here? Was this “garbage”? or a well conceived, but unlucky outing? Certainly, watching some of ND’s plays and players was thrilling, IMHO. (the remarkable kick around a defender by Izzy or Ospeck operating on the outside)
