There is absolutely no way FIFA would consider turning back now. Their WC revenue told them everything they did was perfect.

They were expecting $11 billion, they made $15 billion.

They will tell themselves they got it right forcing Levi's to call itself The San Francisco Treat.

They will tell themselves they got it right becoming Ticketmaster.

They will tell themselves they got it right expanding to 68 teams.

FIFA received no pushback on anything it tried this WC. Instead it received dollar-based pat on the back after dollar-based pat on the back.

No organization experiencing what FIFA just experienced would have any inclination towards introspection. FIFA will march on from here confident, telling itself how good it is, and the world's soccer fans will continue to bear FIFA's many burdens.

Luckily, we're just four short years away from FIFA having no possibility of repeating its 2026 success, perhaps allowing for that much-needed introspection. But who am I kidding? That will never happen.
