in Spain, Portugal and Morocco? It just isn't in the European DNA to charge this much for an event. Maybe I am being naive.

And, I am with you 100%. The fact that I did not even consider seeing Spain in this World Cup because I was just not going to shell out $2-$5K per ticket says a ton. Instead, I took my family to Italy for 10 days which was less expensive given I live in Chicago and would have had to travel for a game. It wasn't just the tickets. The hotels, AirBnB/VRBOs, transportation etc. was bananas.

There is no doubt in my mind this is going to 64 teams. Much like the college athletics NIL mess, FIFA can't resist a cash grab and getting China and India into the mix will be too mouth watering to ignore. I think it will further ruin what was once timeless but I feel the train has left the station and, even though fans hate him, Federations love Infantino because he keeps the pockets full. I bet he wins the next election easily.
