So £30M wasn’t the most Ipswich could get for him in the open market, it was the amount Ipswich was compelled to accept from any team Delap wanted to go to. He probably would have fetched over £50M on the open market last year.

Why anyone would possibly think he was worth £50M remains an unexplained mystery.
