VAR and refereing Lyon vs. Fenerbahçe

I was at the Groupama Stadium yesterday for the second leg of Lyon vs. Fenerbahçe. Great game even if the outcome is an absolute disaster for OL. Crashing out means missing out on vital CL revenue, practically forcing M Kang club into a €50 million fire sale of key players before the mercato dead line in a week.
The match itself was intense, right down to the post-whistle brawl. Guendouzi (who played well) proved once again what an indiot he is. Provoking the ulta with Marseille gestures after you won is just nuts. BTW he should remind he was let go from OM so playing with fire is idiotic
The real comment for me however was Lyon’s disallowed second goal, and it perfectly illustrates how VAR is fundamentally altering the sport.
On the pitch, in real time, and in the stands, nobody saw an infringement (I was even checking the TV broadcats on my phone to understand)
From the ref teams it felt like a clean, legitimate goal that would have stood on any pitch in the world. Instead, the video room intervened to rule it out for a marginal offside that was impossible to catch with the naked eye live.
So one can say this is the new soccer but I feel yesterday was another example of a spontaneous stadium emotion constantly suspended by remote millimeter checks. And that if the same goal was for instance in a non VAR stadium the outcome would be different
