protocols that kept them from traveling to North Carolina. ND had won every ACC fencing championship since there were reestablished in 2015 except 2018 when UNC won th women's and Duke won the men. We still held a pair of dual meets in South Bend the same weekend as the ACC championship where we went undefeated beating #5 Ohio State, Lawrence, and Northwestern.

ND is ranked #3 in the country behind #1 Harvard and #2 Columbia. The 3 teams that competed in the ACC were #9 Duke, #13 UNC, & #17 BC. Duke women beat both BC & UNC, but the men teams were all 1-1 which Duke won the fence-off for the championship.
