Very strong race for the former Columbia runner. Less than a second behind NCSU’s Elly Henes (15:28.68 vs 15:28.05). Henes’ mother previously won the same event.

Wasserman finished ahead of ‘Bama’s Mercy Chelangat (5th) and BYU’s Whittni Orton (outside top 5), two of the favorites.




Also, Jadin O'Brien finished 11th overall in the heptathlon

after becoming only one of two freshmen to qualify for the 24 spots. This, even though she finished 18th or 19th in three events and only better than 10th in two events. She thus finished second-team All-American and should have a good shot to be first-team All-American next year.


She ran a smart race & had a personal best. Denner was 11th
