Coverage past top 4 a bit lacking
Results for ND 9/10/51/65/80
Maddie Denner
Olivia Markezich
Lauren Bailey
Erin Strzelecki
Katie Rose Blachowicz
Denner and Markezich looked great the whole time and they obviously tightened up the 4th and 5th places.
They picked the right races to be their best, winning the regionals and doing great in the final. They were going to be second to NC State in the ACCs even if they pushed hard. Excellent showing by the women.
...in pretty good amounts (if they choose to do so). While many of the runners look to be seniors on the ND web site, the class designation in the NCAA results looks like they have more eligibility. Will they take it?
Maddy Denner and Olivia M., who placed 9th and 11th, look like they take next steps.
The guys, for the most part (Naguse, Jacobs, Russo) looked maxed out, but Carlson, as you noted, is always bringing in new talent.
Once again, really good closing meets (ACC, NCAA regionals, NCAA's) by the women.
All 7 top 31. NAU second
Save for Jacobs, it almost felt like somebody popped the proverbial balloon of energy.
Sometimes a team can fall flat as a unit....it almost makes it easier to move on (I've been involved in one of those races).
After the Olympic setback, he probably had his worst XC run. He finished out of the scoring for ND after being up in the top pack.
However, a great young man who will excel in life whether it be pro track or dentistry
...not that far around the corner. Graduate in '22 and give it two years to get back to the 5-ring meet.
After that, grad school. Dentistry? Dr. Naguse. Sounds cool.
Everyone has meets/runs like this. The super speedy miler from Oregon crawled across the line today.....
