When Jeff arrived at ND, he became the #1 Player at ND as a freshman through his senior year, and a multiple year captain of the ND golf team. He played as an amateur and did the "Tin Cup" qualification for the US Open - he has qualified for the US Senior Open and multiple US amateur opens. Perhaps one of the former freshman dwellers of his freshman dorm room at 435 BP left some good luck for Jeff - Carl Yastrzemski.

Jeff was a great athlete in High School being placed on various All Northern California state teams for Football (QB), Basketball (G) and Baseball (SS). However, I still remember him telling me that playing golf was the most difficult sport that he has ever played - well he certainly did well playing golf.

Jeff has to be in the top handful of ND golfers (Billy Casper was on the ND Golf Team for one semester).
