indoor boards ran the second fastest indoor mile (200 yard laps) ever with a huge cap over a competitive field (all 8 runners set personal bests in the race. He missed the WR by abut 0.3 seconds.
His time was 3:47. The world record for the outdoor mile (400m lap) is 3:43 - although the mile race is not run frequently. Also the races today had pacers that aided times, rather than the "tactical" races we see most of the time.

I think they said it was the second fastest time ever recorded. He was about a half second off the world record.
Just -- and just -- missed the indoor world record. 2nd fastest race ever indoors. Wow. Cross fingers for injury-free year and just let it rip.
