Amongst those in contention for the Team Championship

Penn and Columbia 9, OSU 8, ND 7, Princeton 6, Harvard 4

Olympian Fencer Mohamed Elsayed of LIU (not in contention) undefeated through 7 (including against NDs men).

Edit: there is a discrepancy between Fencing timelive and escrimeresults.com on a harv a rd fencer. One shows 3 wins the other shows four. Weird.

Columbia as well with a fencer credited with 6 wins on one and 5 on the other

Final Update of the day
by Radi-skull  (2023-03-23 16:58:09)     cannot delete  |  Edit  |  Return to Board  |  Ignore Poster   |   Highlight Poster  |   Reply to Post

Team totals:

ND 62
Columbia 52
Princeton 47 (2 bouts behind)
OSU 44
Penn 40
Harvard 27
Duke 22

**I am not tracking SJU or PSU as they have no shot at the Team title. I will probably stop tracking Duke tomorrow**

ND Men up 10 on Columbia with 46 Bouts remaining (Princeton has 48 bouts; see saber note below)

A second Saber dropped out so only 22 possible points

Foil finished at:

ND 25
Princeton/OSU 18
Columbia 17
Penn 16

Saber. Every team has been in a pool with one of the withdrawn except Princeton has had both of them so are behind 2 possible points (or everyone else is ahead 1 or 2 depending on #of Sabers).

ND 21
Columbia / Princeton 16
Duke 15
OSU 10 (1 fencer)
Penn 7 (1 fencer)

What an amazingly great day for the men. It didn’t look great at the outset with epee, but they got a bit more on track and then foil and saber kicked butt. Looking forward to see if they can keep it going tomorrow. I haven’t looked, but assume that the Princeton “bouts remaining” discrepancy is due to the two contestants that pulled.

Correct. Princeton had both competitors in their pools

Today.

So they will have two full pools of 4 tommorrow in saber (16 bouts as a team) where as the rest of the schools I am tracking (only those with 8 or more qualifiers...10 after i drop Duke tomorrow) will only have 14 (assuming they have 2 fencers...penn and OSUbonly have 1 so willbactually have 7 bouts tomorrow).

Thx for the updates. Keep it up. Go Irish!!! *
