5th on the Steeple. Nice race, was right there in 3rd at the bell, got out kicked a bit in the homestretch, but a PB and great race!

Jadin O’Brien off to a good start in hurdles setting a PB of 13.35 and scoring most points of all participants.

After 3 events now in 5th place. Her high jump result set her back, but her last throw in the shot put was a clutch PB and made a huge leap in the standings.

Is Jadin strong in Javelin, LJ & 800?

She had PB’s in 3 of 4 events today, leaving her in 3rd, 99 pts behind first place.

The 800m is her best remaining event.

Right now, her point total prorates out to 6466.25 over 7 events (topic raised by other poster below), but I think the javelin will determine her fate.

After 6 events, her points only pro-rate to less than 6240.

She is securely in second but is still trailing Chapman by over 100 points.

I am seeing 5 Americans with better scores this season

She has a PB of 6115 in the event which qualifies for the US trials but is short of the 6400 Olympic Standard.

So I think she is a bit of a long shot for the upcoming Olympics.

Surprising, she's had such a great collegiate career.

Are the others a bit older and have had more time to develop?

That’s a big part of it

I think most of the Decathletes and Heptathletes hit their prime at an older age, probably in the 26-30 range.

The key is to keep improving in multiple events and not hit a plateau.

3000M steeplechase: Olivia Markezich and Sophie Novak

both qualified for the finals. Granted, they were in a slower heat where they could afford to run slow because they were still ahead of everyone else except one runner and get through, but there is a freshman who ran 10 seconds faster than anyone else ran in either heat, so Olivia may have work to do if she is to repeat as champion.
