made some great plays. Also GT served 11 aces, while ND only had two.

Gaerte and Bjork played well on the front row for the Irish and should improve as the season progresses, along with their classmate Langer. ND can finish above .500 in ACC play, but I do not see them as an NCAA tourney selection this season.

Tough loss. You may be right that the NCAA tourney is not

probable. My thought is it depend on their improvement. Going 5 sets, losing the last set 15-13, and almost winning against the team that preseason was picked 4th in the ACC (linked coaches poll) was very impressive for a team with young players who can still improve. Tech did not want to start the ACC 0-3 especially playing at L'ville tomorrow which is probably a guaranteed loss so the team's season was on the line. ND was picked 13th in the conference so to make it so competitive was a phenomenal effort even if we fell short.

Very likely at least 7 ACC teams will make the NCAA tourney. While 3 teams are locks and probably SMU given they are the only team that beat Nebraska, any of the other 3 teams that makes it in the top 7 have a very good chance. If ND can go 12-8 in ACC play I think they will probably get in. So if they go 0-5 against those top 4 ACC teams picked by the coaches (so far both of their loses are to those teams), they can still lose 3 more, SMU in Dallas is probably another loss but a split next weekend in Florida would certainly make making the tournament a bigger possibilty.

Of course it does require beating Clemson at home tomorrow, a team that was picked 14th below us. Go Irish!

beat Clemson 3-0, only last set was close. *
