ND lost 1st set 25-22 (I believe), but handled 2nd and 3rd (both 25-19).

Miami came out blazing in the 4th and built an 12-3 lead. Along the way Freshman Blocker Grace Langer landed on fellow Freshman Gaerte's foot and appeared to have a bad ankle roll. She was able to limp off but never returned. ND tried to rally getting within 5 at 12-7 and 13-8 but Miami closed strong winning 25-13.

5th and final Set had Miami take the lead, and hold up to 12-9. ND reeled out 3 straight to tie it at 12 but Miami scored the last 3 to win 15-12.

Gaerte was the star for the Irish along with some beautiful 2nd touch kills by Sr. setter Schrader.

After the 3rd set I was predicting an ND hat-trick of M Soccer (up 1-0 with time ticking down), VBall, and Hockey (up 3-1). Sadly only hockey would old on for the W.

Tough loss. I thought when Monson made that kick volley when

it was 12-9 in the fifth to start that 3 point run we were destined to win. Then they call timeout and get the last 3. This team is scrappy but they are goin to need to have a big win over one of the teams picked 4-7 to make the NCAA tourney. So far they have 3-2 losses to both Miami (picked #7) and Georgia Tech (picked #4), Next shot is at preseason #5 FSU that starts in 70 minutes at 1pm Eastern. Go Irish! Beat Noles!

Looking to be another good one. 1-1 after two

Monson with another fantastic dig to save a point en route to the second set win.

Glad to see Langer is playing today

Yes watching. I'd love ND to get FSU but not looking
