BYU sweeps mens and women.

Drama in the men's race, Habtom Samuel from New Mexico finished 2nd after running about half the race with only 1 shoe. That takes some serious concentration. Announcers were saying temp was mid 30s.

Edit: Highest Men's finish was Izaiah Steury at 24.

Woman's was Erin Strzeleckiat 37.

Men were 5th through first 4K, dropping to 10th by the 8K and holding there through the finish.

...based on finish 40th or higher. This is the second straight year Erin S. has earned All-American.
Steury posted a personal best in attaining AA.

Both men and women didn't have a superstar this year, so had to depend on superior performances 1-5.
Men had 4 in the top 99, but the fifth placer was back in 143. Carter Solomon has had a yo-yo year and he was in 163rd this meet.

Women had 37, 81, 82 but then 141 and 206. After winning the ACC and sub-regional, they probably expected better, but sometimes you're just off for whatever reason. Weather was cold so that might have factored.

Both squads return a boatload of talent. Sparks runs a solid program so expect them to be in the mix next year.
