Prentiss hubb shot release

Hubb’s shot has been a frequent discussion topic here lately. It seems that some are hoping that it will click for hubb and he will start to shoot well later this year (or early next).

If I recall correctly, Tory Jackson also came to Notre Dame with an awkward release on his jump shot. He was able to correct this, but it took him all four years of college to do so. Each year showed discernable but slow improvement. Linked are his college stats. See his 3pt % each year. He seems like a good example of the amount of time it takes to correct an awkward shot. It seems that those who believe that he will take a big step forward this year are being a little bit optimistic.

TJ was taking on average less than 2 treys a game

as a frosh. Hubb is over 4. He needs to drive to the hoop more, which Tory was able to do as a 24% trey shooter as a frosh.

Hubb reminds me of a baseball speedster with no power who hits the ball in the air instead of on the ground.
