Not sure how to exactly interpret that

It would seem he is not going to bring a guard in as a grad transfer who averaged 5 ppg for a mid-major. From a (low) mid major standpoint, this guy is elite. From his stats, a very good shooter.

If he is going to bring someone in, it would be someone good enough to play a meaningful role.

If he went this route with this guy- it's saying he is not 100% sure of Hubb's decision making and that he would prefer him as more of a combo guard (and it does seem he shoots better off the pass than the dribble). Also, it would say that he wants to play real small at least half the time (Kelly, Hubb, Ryan, Goodwin and Lasz/Durham). Carmody playing the 3 or Pat Connuaghton small 4 off the bench. Bench: Djogo as a 3/4 and either Taylor or Zona (with one sitting out).

Now if Brey could pick up Kelly and his former Quinnipiac teammate Marfo, that would be real interesting.

I still would prefer a big who could play a role- but when you hear the power programs are going after Bruner and Tape, that seems less likely.

There are still some 2020 recruits out there (Jeffress, Miles, Jones, Carter and maybe Whitt)- but with the possible exception of Jeffress, none would be difference makers as frosh.
