Games from 1976-2020 are featured. Brent Musberger is on at least two of the calls.

My personal favorite (should be ranked higher) was the

Elmer Bennett shot. That play required 2 qucik accurate passes AND the shot. That was awesome.

Thanks for sharing...I love these *

Press conference. Said Thomas passing to Francis was cheating. Said he thought it was just going to be “him versus me.”

I thought to myself at the time, “you got beat by a guard that made a heads up play most would not have the presence of mind to make in that situation, and now you are making fun of him for it. Just tip your cap and move on, you sound like a jackass.”

Rex had 2 of the 10 game winners. Also an assist. *

IIRC Doc Rivers beat ND with a last second shot

FWIW I was at the game when Steve Novak did the same.

Also reminded of a key game tying shot with Marquette- Carleton Scott.

Lasz may have had the most unlikely game tying shot this year thanks to Gibbs wedgie.

A heave at the Mecca ...

... in 1981.

The next year, Doc had the second best dunk I’ve ever seen live at the ACC. He hurdled Cecil Rucker, who stood helplessly hoping to take a charge at the dotted line in the key.

There’s a reason they called him Doc.

Just another night for David Rivers. *

Must have restricted it to game winners

I was expecting to see Carleton Scott against Marquette, but that one just sent it to overtime. For your viewing pleasure:

I didn't think about this one but should have

This was a remarkably dramatic moment in what was a really fun couple weeks of ND basketball. I'm sure you're right that they limited it to winning shots or this would've been a shoo-in.

So it is really #2-11 at best. *

Has to be referencing UCLA 1974
by Ajax  (2020-05-15 13:17:15)     cannot delete  |  Edit  |  Return to Board  |  Ignore Poster   |   Highlight Poster  |   Reply to Post

however that was not truly a buzzer beater.

The sequence where UCLA missed multiple shots is as famous as the Clay corner jumper.

Mea culpa - not a buzzer beater, but a game winner.

And it is the best game winning shot in ND history.

Thank you. That's a fun watch.
