1. Mike, his staff and players are all healthy.

2. His players will return to campus on August 1.

3. The first regular season game is scheduled to be Army on Veterans Day.

4. If basketball is being played in December, the game in Lexington would be a bus trip, not a chartered flight because of the need to save money wherever possible.

5. Watch the fate of fall intercollegiate sports to see what is likely to happen to fall semester basketball. From his tone of voice, I inferred that he was not hopeful that the non-conference schedule will be played.

6. He sounded upbeat about a conference only schedule beginning after Christmas and he supports the idea of an NCAA tourney for 2021 with every team involved and the early rounds being played on a true regional basis.

7. Cormac Ryan is a complete guard and will be a starter. He and TJ Gibbs had great head to head match-ups in practice last year. Cormac reminded him of how Hansbrough played during his "practice only" season.

8. Ryan and Hubb will be the leaders of the team for the next two seasons and Mike is optimistic about what the team can accomplish.

9. He is happy that there are some very talented local players for the 2021 recruiting class. He is not optimisitic about official visits for the fall semester. He doesn't expect that there will in-person evaluations of prospects until April 2021.

10. Mike will hold a simplified version of his Coaches vs. Cancer golf event in early August.

So far is one verbal from South Bend and a possible verbal from South Bend. That's it.

In terms of a recruiting effort perception not the greatest and will really look bad if Wesley decides to go elsewhere.

I reached out to the staff regarding two recruits

One was a 7’1” power forward with great footwork and the other was a 6’10” power forward with freakish athletic ability. The 7’1” had numerous D-1 offers from Power 5 conferences but decided to go to Stetson. The other just signed with WVU and Coach Huggins. Both of them are great kids with good grades and a tremendous work ethic.

I even went through the compliance office at ND to make sure I did things the proper way. The kids were part of a program that had three of the top 100 players in the country this year. The program has a great track record of putting kids in the NBA. I reached out to multiple coaches in the staff and advised them that the kids had significant interest in ND. Never heard a word. It could not have been an issue regarding grades because no one on the staff had any idea of their grades. A 7’1” kid and a 6’10” kid from one of the top high school programs in the nation reach out and express interest in your program and there is not a single follow up?
