Wertz was fine with the sit out season as part the 5 year plan to get used to better competition and go after a masters degree. Now it seems he can be on the 5 year plan without sitting out a season- so 3 seasons to play for ND.

Based on the rule change, it would seem Durham could play another season at ND if he wanted to and if a SS was saved (and unless Brey could bring in a grad transfer who was better, it would seem there would be one saved)
